One Day Jewellery Making Workshop in Oakura. Tuesday 27 April 2021
Jewellery Making workshop, one day.
Ok for all skill levels, come and have some fun!
This is an introduction to traditional silver jewellery making with a contemporary spin for the beginner or hobbyist.
You will make a simple band ring made from silver sheet, which can be embellished with textures you can make yourself. It introduces the skills, tools and techniques to manipulate and construct a form in metal and to familiarise you with the studio. From there you will be able to progress at your own pace, Sally will help you to design and make other pieces of your choice. Silver soldering opens up possibilities for hollow form objects such as chunky rings, brooches or pendants, whilst forging, piercing and forming techniques will add detail enabling you to create something unique.
Sally's extensive library of jewellery and design books make tea breaks a time of discussion and generation of ideas.
Tools and workshop use are included. Silver for the first project is provided and after that, students can purchase materials as needed.
Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
This is a great place to start, then if you love it, you could join a regular evening class.
1/2 Day (morning) also available.
Limited to 5 people.
